Literacy Development Fund
We are dedicated to enhancing our school's essential resources, such as textbooks, stationery, desks, and chairs. Your support is invaluable in ensuring our students have access to the resources they need to thrive in their education. As of October 2026, a donation of:
- $100 can buy five text books for either a teacher or a student.
- $650 can buy e-books and writing materials for a year that benefit the upper primary school.
- $750 can help us obtain assessment tools such as reading assessments, writing prompts, and literacy diagnostic tests to identify learners' strengths and areas for improvement and to guide instructional planning and intervention strategies.
- $1,600 can help us access virtual field trips to museums, libraries, historical sites, and other cultural institutions that offer learners the opportunity to explore literacy-related topics and artifacts from around the world without leaving the classroom.
Teacher Retention Program
To improve the welfare of our teachers, ALDO would like to ensure a fair compensation and provide adequate accommodation. Your generosity plays a crucial role in empowering our educators and ensuring our school’s continued success. As of October 1, 2026,
- $300 donated can cover one teacher's living monthly salary.
- $400 will cover the monthly living salary of a headteacher.
- $38,000 will enable ALDO to construct accommodation for two teachers with their families.
Digital and Robotics Program
Robotics resources designed to be engaging, educational, and developmentally appropriate for elementary school children will provide them with hands-on opportunities to explore STEM concepts and develop problem-solving skills, critical thinking, and creativity while preparing students for success in a technology-driven world. As of October 1, 2026:
- $3,200 can stock the library with digital and multimedia resources such as e-books, audiobooks, e-readers, and audio recordings to cater to different learning styles.
- $2,000 will provide four laptops or robotics kits, and Legos and access to problem-based learning platforms and coding platforms.
Girl Child Empowerment Fund
Supporting a girl child requires a holistic approach, addressing her physical, emotional, and social needs while advocating for gender equality and societal empowerment. This includes ensuring access to education, healthcare, equal opportunities, and a supportive environment. Investing in girls is crucial for ending poverty and unlocking their potential. Educated girls empower communities by reducing poverty, inequality, and violence, and they are more likely to prioritize education for future generations. ALDO recognizes that girls' education can positively transform entire communities. As of October 1, 2026:
- $200 a year can provide an academic scholarship for a student
- $40 can provide a child with a school uniform or a pair of shoes, ensuring they have the necessary attire for their education.
- $45 a month can provide nutritious food and and school supplies
Infrastructure Development Fund
Infrastructure development for a school is pivotal, not just for improving the physical environment but also for fostering educational excellence, student well-being, and community development. Better facilities attract more students and promote regular attendance by offering comfortable and appealing learning spaces. Modern infrastructure boosts teacher satisfaction and retention, leading to improved student outcomes. Additionally, well-designed infrastructure enhances safety and security, ensuring a secure environment. As of October 2026:
- $30 donated, we can purchase a bag of cement.
- $15,000 enables us to acquire land and construct a sports field for boys and girls.
Feeding and Nutrition Fund
Many children come to school for the one cup of cornmeal porridge they get for their lunch. Although this cup of porridge fills the stomach, it lacks the nutrients needed by the children. With more funding, we would like a substantial hot meal to reduce hunger and malnutrition.
To establish a sustainable feeding program, ALDO started school gardens and provided teachers with small land to grow food to supplement their salaries. As of October 1, 2026:
- $350 covers the cost of providing a balanced school meal for a child for an entire year.
- $450 can purchase additional hybrid goats that can provide protein for the children.
- $2,500 can purchase an acre of land to grow nutritious food for the school
Skills Development Fund
We are embarking on a crucial initiative to enhance farming practices, which includes the construction of a food warehouse, acquiring a grain mill, and providing vocational skills. Your support is instrumental in transforming lives and communities, enabling us to build a brighter and more sustainable future for all. Thank you for your generosity and commitment to our cause.
- $35 provides seeds, tools and composting demonstrations for one student.
- $50 provides workbooks for small business exercises for 10 students.
- $250 provides soccer or netball training for two months.
